After graduating from the dance department of The Juilliard School in New York, while working with Twyla Tharp's company, she studied anatomy and kinesiology during her year-long rehabilitation due to a torn cruciate ligament in her knee, and began to develop an interest in healing.
After returning to dancing, she worked with Bill T. Jones' company and then with the French ballet Preljocaje. She then freelanced as a soloist in Europe, Asia, and Brazil, while simultaneously studying craniosacral therapy in Hawaii and Italy.
Since 2012, she has been living with her family by the sea in Sao Paulo, where she runs "KAI NO IE Art & Healing". He also built a dance studio and opened an art residency facility.
