Mami Shimazaki, who has been active as a soloist with Israel’s Bat Sheva Dance Company for many years and is currently active in Israel not only in dance and choreography but also in theater/acting, will hold an intensive workshop at DaBY during her short stay in Israel!
After four days of classes and creations, on the fifth and final day, Sunday the 19th, there will be a short showing to present the works created in the creations. In addition to the works of the workshop participants, Mami Shimazaki and Mariko Kakizaki will demonstrate their creations at the showing.
This is a rare opportunity to learn firsthand in Japan the techniques and expressive skills that have been cultivated through overseas experience. We look forward to your participation.
[Instructor comments
The workshop will focus on Israel’s unique movement techniques that release the ground, and on research that conveys the feel and texture of everyday images and words through movement, aiming to lead to new discoveries. (Asami Shimazaki)
