Dance Base Yokohama to hold YPAM Joint Program “DaBY Performing Arts Selection” at KAAT Kanagawa Arts Theatre from December 10 (Fri.) to 12 (Sun.)
This is a showcase of selected performing arts works by Japanese dance artists who have been creating at Dance Base Yokohama (DaBY), a rare dance house in Japan that opened last June in the Corona Disaster. DaBY strives to provide an environment where people can concentrate on their creations, and also aims to re-stage their works in various theaters in Japan and abroad.
YPAM – Yokohama Performing Arts Meeting 2021,” one of the world’s leading performing arts platforms, will present a triple bill of seven works by artists in residence at DaBY, from veterans who have worked abroad to up-and-coming artists, who have been creating their own works with ingenuity and persistence at the Corona Disaster. The seven works, which have been created with perseverance and ingenuity, will be presented in a triple bill format.
Please watch for the expression of “response to society through the body” that these unique Japanese dance artists have tackled at the Corona Disaster.
During YPAM, DaBY, located in Bashamichi, Yokohama, will host a work-in-progress performance by dance artists associated with DaBY.

They and I. How does dance appear as a cry of denunciation in this asymmetrical relationship? In this asymmetrical relationship, how does dance appear as a cry of denunciation?
The challenge of creation is to explore expressions that do not presuppose the interactive expression demanded by reason.
