Dance Teleportation” is a project in which Kota Yamazaki, as choreography director, worked with 11 dance artists in an online creative process.
As the opening event of Dance Base Yokohama, a site-specific performance was planned to be held outdoors, but due to the spread of the new coronavirus infection, the creation was changed to a performance presentation format, with the creation taking place remotely.
In “Dance Teleportation,” a project to explore ways of creating and presenting works under the spread of infectious diseases, a total of 11 dance artists created videos, photographs, and other works through online creation with Kota Yamazaki. The process and results of these works were presented in the archive area of Dance Base Yokohama and its surroundings in the form of an exhibition and performance.
This catalog summarizes the “spelling words” from Kota Yamazaki to the dance artists that became the process of these exhibitions and creations, the responses by the artists, and the Corona Disaster as discussed in the talks.
Please come and watch the dialogue and creative process of the dance artists born in the Corona Disaster. Participating Dance Artists
