(b.1997, Pekanbaru, ID) is a Naarm (Melbourne, AU) based artist working across screen, performance, and sound. Her practice investigates the embodied knowledge systems held in the voice and the persistence of sound, or, resonance in creating images. Through a methodology grounded in new media experimentation and transdisciplinary collaboration, her work interrogates the voice’s entanglements with technology as a means to envision alternative ways of bodily resilience. Ari has exhibited widely and internationally with recent shows, performances, and screenings at institutions such as Liquid Architecture (Naarm, AU), Institute of Modern Art (Meanjin, AU), The Physics Room (Wellington, NZ), Bangkok Kunsthalle (TH), and Queer East Film Festival (London, UK).
