Dates] Monday, June 28 and Tuesday, June 29, 18:30
Venue] Yokohama City Hall Atrium
SOLO” confronts the space with all the elements of traditional flamenco, a trinity of dance, guitar, and song, performed by one Israeli dancer. Still very popular today, “SOLO” has overwhelmed audiences in various venues, including museums and outdoor plazas, as well as prominent theaters around the world. For the Japan tour, the performance will be held on the first floor of Yokohama City Hall, which moved to a new location last June, in a glass-walled, open-air atrium facing the outdoors. The audience will be able to enjoy the collaboration with the view of the city of Yokohama Bashamichi as the sun goes down and the streets of Yokohama Bashamichi change into the night.
As we prepare for Israel Galvin’s “The Rite of Spring” to come to Japan in the current situation where the spread of the new coronavirus infection is not expected to be easily controlled, we have decided to present an additional performance of this work in order to share his world view with as many audiences as possible.
Please look forward to seeing Israel Galvan’s “SOLO”, which can only be seen at this time and place.
Direction, Choreography, Performer: Israel Galvan
