Kanaei Asakawa, a dancer and choreographer, has started an independent project “Kanaei Asakawa: Four Seasons Series” since 2023.
Collaborating with artists active in different genres, the series explores new forms of expression as dance x xx.
In vol.3, we will welcome two artists, Misuke Ogawa, who is widely active as an actor, musician, and dancer, and Yutsuki Toyama, who is active in various fields as a spatial artist and graphic designer, for five days of intensive creation at Dance Base Yokohama, with a public showing on the last day.

◆Profile
Kanae Asakawa
Dancer/Choreographer Born in Koshigaya City, Saitama Prefecture. Graduated from Shobi Gakuen University, Department of Performing Arts, Dance Course. She began dancing after a career in rhythmic gymnastics. Focusing on the unshakable sensations and emotions that waver within the various boundaries of light and darkness, life and death, war and peace, she creates her works with an emphasis on the “here and now. They are expanding their activities throughout Japan, regardless of genre or location, by organizing their own projects, participating in outdoor festivals, fashion shows, workshops for children, theater productions, and so on. Recent major activities include “Za Koenji Gekijo Heikou” (Let’s go to the Koenji Theater), directed by Teresa Ludovico! a solo piece by the director Teresa Ludovico, and “I was there, I wasn’t there,” a solo piece created as a result of her residency at Crossplay Higashi-Matsuyama in 2023. Received numerous awards including the Yokohama Dance Collection 2021-DEC Best New Artist Award.
Miyu Ogawa
Actor/Musician/Dancer As an actor, he made his film debut in “The Last Star” (18) directed by Sarara Ogawa. Since then, he has appeared in numerous films, dramas, and commercials, including “Yokogao” (19, directed by Koji Fukada) and “Brain Paradise” (20, directed by Masashi Yamamoto), and played the lead role in “The Goldfish by the Sea” in 2021. He has also broadened his musical activities, releasing the album “sutwuanu” as a singer-songwriter in April 2023.
Yutsuki Suyama
Spatial Artist/Graphic Designer Graduated from Tama Art University, Department of Environmental Design. His main occupation is graphic design, and he has worked on corporate advertisements for cosmetics, advertisements for dance performances, live music concerts, and art festivals, and CD jacket production. He also collaborates with musicians and dancers in video performances using his original “drop liquid” technique, which captures the movement of liquid and the twinkling of light. His philosophy of expression is “color and shimmer, a drop of wonder there.
