Yokohama Kendama House / Dance & Kendama Night
On April 11 (Sat), at Dance Base Yokohama, a kendama workshop for parents and children will be held during the daytime, followed by a music, dance, and kendama night event at night.
This is a day where new encounters are born in Yokohama, transcending generations and genres.
◆Yokohama Kendama House
Small-group kendama workshops for beginners and experienced players alike.
The instructor is Kodaman of the kendama performance unit Zoomadanke.
We will create two hours of fun and learning in an environment where each person can receive individual attention and feel comfortable participating in the program.
Performances by Zoomadanke will also be held on the day of the event.
This is a program where you can enjoy both the pleasure of “seeing” and the experience of “trying”.
Parents and children are welcome to attend.

Dance & Kendama Night
Yokohama Night Session, where music and body intersect.
This is an exchange event where kendama and dance resonate across genres under the play of DJ Tatsukiamano.
Dancers, Kendama players, and spectators. Enjoy the same rhythm for 3 hours.
We will open an evening where you can enjoy yourself to the rhythm in your own style.

ZOOMADANKE
A professional kendama performance duo formed in 2010.
With the motto of “changing the image of kendama,” they are constantly researching new ways to enjoy kendama. Their performances, which fuse music and dance with kendama, fascinate everyone who sees them.

KODAMAN
One of the kendama performance duo Zu~Danke. In addition to kendama performances, he is involved in a wide variety of kendama-related projects, including organizing kendama events, running a kendama school, and creating his own original kendama ” KODAMAN KENDAMA.

Ryu Suzuki
dancer/director/choreographer, has presented numerous works as a DaBY resident artist. His representative work ” TAMA ” ( 2024 ), which was born from movement research based on his childhood familiarity with kendama and its physicality, premiered in a co-production with Aichi Prefectural Art Theater and was invited by ACC in Gwangju, Korea, for an overseas tour. He is the creator of DaBY “Wings” and actively engages in overseas exchanges through contemporary interpretations of Japanese culture.

Tatsukiamano
He has composed music for various animation and dance films, including “LOCOMOTOR” and “The Balloon Catcher” directed by Isunori Kaneko.
“The Balloon Catcher” was nominated at the Annecy International Animated Film Festival in 2020. He also won the Best Soundtrack Award at Ca’ Foscari Short Film Festival 2021 in Venice. In dance, he has composed music for the Japan-India contemporary dance co-production project “- scape”.
In 2021, he released “House of Pain : Benzamide” in collaboration with Franz K Endo.
