Research and first stage tryouts for creation by international choreographers
*Tryouts for phase 2 and 3 may be held in subsequent years.
*Due to the spread of the new coronavirus, guest lecturer Iri Pokornyi may change his instruction, for example, he will be teaching online.
■Purpose
Nurturing young dancers and improving the skills of dancers with professional stage experience through creation with Ily Pokorny, a former member of the Kidd Pivot dance company led by Crystal Pite and active as a choreographer in dance companies in the U.S. and Europe.

*Participation fee may be waived depending on the content of the audition
*There will be a performance fee if the research conducted in this program is used in a future performance at a theater or other venue.

Professional dancers or aspiring professionals between the ages of 18 and 35

Monday, October 25, 12:00 – Tuesday, November 30, 17:00

*After screening of documents and videos, private auditions and online interviews may be conducted if necessary.
■ Screening method

*Two (2) videos to be submitted
(1) A choreographic combination by Ilyi Pokorny that is close to the original
(not changing the speed or rhythm of the movements or the order of the combinations)
(2) He will personally replace the order of the choreographic combinations by Ily Pokorny. Then, he will improvise to fill in the gaps between them.[2分半程度]
(Combinations may be improvised based on the choreography, with each performer changing the speed, rhythm, size, texture, etc., of the movements.)
*Please use music (including silence) of your choice for both. Also, the music for (1) and (2) does not have to be the same.
Basically, we do not accept questions about the choreography. Please observe the video carefully and try to copy the choreography, adding your own experience and imagination to the body usage that you cannot see. We do not judge whether or not you have made a mistake, so please do what you see in the video.
