Lecturer / Navigator] Kenta Komori (Dance Evangelist, DaBY)

Professional dancers and aspiring professional dancers based in Japan will gather for shared work led by Kenta Komori. This dance class is designed to create an environment for dancers to develop their creation, dance technique, and sensitivity to thinking about expression as dance artists, and to continue to produce high quality performances in a wide variety of performing arts.

This project is for professional dancers. Anyone is welcome to observe the class.

about 15 people・professional dancers and dancers who want to become professionals (member registration required)

Class member registration is required to participate in the Class.

Kenta Kojiri [Dance Evangelist].

Dancer, choreographer, and dance evangelist at Dance Base Yokohama, winner of the Prix de Lausanne in 1999. He was the first Japanese male dancer to join the Netherlands Dance Theatre I. He has performed with the Royal Swedish Ballet, Noism, and Sylvie Guillem’s “6000”. Since leaving the company, he has made guest appearances with the Royal Swedish Ballet, Noism, Sylvie Guillem’s “6000 Miles Away,” and Kirlian Productions, while developing activities around his creative work, including the solo performance “Study for Self/portrait” (Hara Museum of Contemporary Art, 2005). In recent years, he has been leading Opto with Rei Watanabe and Nagama Yuasa, curating Dance Lab “Dancers, Dance with Words,” which teaches Japanese figure skaters how to express themselves, and serving as an instructor/navigator at Saitama Dance Laboratory (Saitama Arts Theatre, Sai-No-Kuni).
