SEGA SAMMY Foundation for Arts and Culture awarded the Mecenat Grand Prize at the Mecenat Award 2023 for Dance Base Yokohama’s activities.
Dance Base Yokohama, operated by the Sega Sammy Foundation for Arts and Culture, received the “Mecenat Award” at the “Mecenat Award 2023” announced today.

Reason for Award
The committee was commended for providing artists with a place to create their works, planning experimental programs, promoting interaction among diverse people as a dance house open to society, and taking on the challenge of developing and reforming dance culture.
DaBY is a dance house open to the community and lovers of culture and the arts for the purpose of creating performing arts works centering on dance. since opening in June 2020, DaBY has organized and managed workshops and experimental tryout performances, invited overseas artists and companies, and conducted dance archive projects, and aims to be a center of exchange not only for choreographers and dancers, but also for creators, critics, researchers, production staff, and audiences in various fields.
