2024 DaBY Artist in Residence
Independent dance artist who moves between the roles of choreographer, performer, educator and manager.
She is interested in the provocation, connection, and criticality that comes from creating and viewing dance. Moving away from traditional dance training, she examines socio-political ideologies and explores the possibilities of contemporary dance. Her practice embraces the multifaceted nature of choreography and dance as it changes with time and circumstance. Acknowledging the fluid and transient nature of the creative process, she disrupts previous formal definitions to create new experiences: Ah Hock and Peng Yu (2004), L.A. Dance Connection (2003-2008), Frontier Danceland (2010 (2010-2011), and Re:Dance Theatre (2012-2015). Her work has been performed at the Esplanade dans Festival, Huayi Chinese Festival of Arts, NUS Exon-Mobil Campus Concert, Prisma Festival Panama, WDA Asia Pacific Seoul, Cont. act Contemporary Dance Festival, and Dance Nucleus' VECTOR. She holds a Master's degree in Arts and Cultural Leadership.
