Yuki Ayato / “You Don’t Have to Cry at the Forecast” Work in Progress
DaBY resident artist Yuki Ayamon will write and direct a work-in-progress performance of “You Don’t Have to Cry at the Forecast,” one of the trilogy of “OVER WORK” to be performed at Kanagawa Youth Center Studio HIKARI in June 2024.
A post-performance talk by Ayamon and the performers will be held after the performance. Please join us.

Artist Profile
Born in 1991 in Toyama Prefecture. Playwright. President of CUI.
In 2013, he won the 1st Sendai Short Play Award Grand Prize for “Unstoppable Children Run Over”; in 2015, he won the 3rd Sendai Short Play Award Grand Prize for “Insomnia Spread”; in 2019, he won the Playwright’s Award at the 10th Sengawa Theater Drama Competition for “Violating the Violent”.
The plays are characterized by “aggressive and literate dialogue” and “the main motif of the plays is people at the mercy of sudden natural or man-made disasters such as earthquakes, terrorism, and indiscriminate murder.
Since 2021, he has been a part-time lecturer at Nihon University College of Art, Department of Theatre Arts, and since 2023, he has been a part-time lecturer at Shobi Gakuen University, Department of Performing Arts, Faculty of Arts and Information Studies.
Actor. Born in Tochigi Prefecture, he has been performing mainly in small theaters since 2011. Recent works include “Hickey Cancun Tornado” by HighBy and “Ebiday” by Team Unsui. This will be his third appearance in Yuuki Ayamon’s works, following “Disturbance of Landscape” in 2019 and “Violating the Violent” in 2023.
Theater writer and actor. Representative of Area 51, leader of JIOLAMA, and member of Traveling Tatakuba. In recent years, his main activity is music theater, in which he himself composes music and performs with a band. His works include Area 51’s “Ma, Ika ni Nigareta Tonight” and “Irrelevant Giovanni” (The Great Fairy Book of Japan). Recently, he has been studying contact improvisation at “AAPA”.
He is a member of the contemporary theater company NAKANO Shigeki + Frankens (a.k.a. Nakafura). As an actor, he has appeared in Nakafura’s works as well as in various other productions in Japan and abroad. In his solo performances, which he writes, directs, and performs, he presents his works in various places in Japan and abroad (cafes, galleries, parks, theater lobbies, streetcars, etc.) with a unique narrative style that mixes fiction and fact.
