The logo mark was designed by DaBY artistic director Eri Karatsu and other DaBY staff, together with the creative unit SPREAD, after repeated discussions from the conception of the dance house.
DaBY’s logo, with its impressive swinging triangles, is based on the theme of “flexible triangles” andexpresses the fluid movement of dance and the way in which dance dissolves rigid valuesby transforming the equilateral triangle, which is a stable shape, into a twisting one.
Along with this logo, DaBY has been implementing a variety of projects to serve as a platform and place of exchange not only for dancers but also for various creators, with the aim of developing dance as a composite art form.
Last year, the concept of “Pioneering Dance” and “Connecting Dance and Society” and the space design by Hirotaka Isshiki + Narumi Ozawa + Shiori Mori + ON Design, which embodied the concept, were highly evaluated and won the Good Design Award.
DaBY is not limited to design and spatial design, but actively collaborates and interacts with creators in other fields in an attempt to develop an open dance environment and bring its appeal to a wider audience.
