PORT: Performance or Theory” is a newly launched body expression study group by the participants of the 2019 Festival/Tokyo’s research and development program “Artist Pit,” including DaBY choreographer in residence, Saori Hala. Six professional artists, including DaBY choreographer-in-residence Saori Hara, will work to improve the precision of their own expression from the perspectives of Performance and Theory.
In addition to mutual criticism among artists who work with the body in different ways, such as dance, performance, theater, photography, and architecture, lectures, discussions, and showings will be held in an open format with Yoshio Otani (Criticism/Music) as a guest lecturer.
Also on display during the exhibition are the archives of last year’s “Artists’ Pit” and records of each artist’s activities.
