In February, we will welcome as our guest Nagama Yuasa, who will talk about her 10 years of experience working with the Netherlands Dance Theater (NDT) and collaborating with various choreographers, how she is making the most of her experience, and the differences and similarities between the dance environment overseas and in Japan.

Eima Yuasa
(Dancer and choreographer)
After 11 years as a member of NDT, a Dutch dance company leading contemporary dance in Europe, she became a freelance dancer and has appeared as Juliet in Mats Ek’s version of “Juliet & Romeo” and as a guest in Sasha Waltz’s “Körper”, among others. She is also a member of EASTMAN led by Sidi Larbi Cherkaoui, and has appeared in numerous dance, opera, and theater productions, including the Kronos Quartet, contemporary artist/pianist Tomoko Mukaiyama, Noh performer Noboru Yasuda, architect Tsuyoshi Tane, fashion designer Tamae Hirokawa, fashion designer Go Tane, composer Tamae Hirokawa, and world’s end girlfriend.
Winner of the 13th Japan Dance Forum Award in 2019, and will present an online/offline installation work as XHIASMA project #003 “site” in 2020. She is a certified countertechnique teacher. She is active in a wide range of activities both abroad and in Japan.
