Training class for professional dancers based in Japan. In “Master Class” vol. 1, under the theme of “Approach to Improvisation,” Yoko Ando will be the guest instructor, and participants will learn about “Forsythe Technique and its diversity. The purpose of this session is to reexamine the originality of one’s own movement and imagination based on the experience each has cultivated, and to find interest in the improvisational body without narrowing one’s vision by sharing it with others.

Yoko Ando
The Forsyth Technique and its Variety.

Born in Yokohama, studied under Kuniko Kisanuki. She studied under Kuniko Kisanuki and became the first Asian to join the Ballett Frankfurt in 2001.
After the dissolution of the Ballett Frankfurt in 2004, she continued to be a member of The Forsythe Company, where she danced for 15 years until the company’s dissolution in 2003. Since 2001, outside of the company, she has been creating, directing, and performing her own dance works, collaborating with musicians and contemporary artists in Japan and abroad, and creating and teaching dance using media technology. He also collaborates with musicians and contemporary artists in Japan and abroad, and is actively involved in the creation and education of dance using media technology. Currently based in Yokohama and New York.
