From late September to mid-October 2020, DaBY resident choreographer Shintaro Hirahara has begun his creation. He is now working on the second creation of his new work “Enen”, following on from June this year.
“Shintaro Hirahara New Work “Enen” Open Breast” vol.2″ will be held before the first performance on October 12 (Mon.) and 13 (Tue.). The performers and guest Kenta Komori, a DaBY dance evangelist, will participate in this one-hour open brainstorming session to look deeply into the work, including videos of the creative process to date.

Resident choreographer Shintaro Hirahara, who will be creating works during his first residency at DaBY, will present the creations he created during his 10-day stay at DaBY, and will also have an open brainstorming session with the guests.
The two guests will be invited to participate in open brainstorming sessions as well as tryouts (performances).
This project will be streamed live on the DaBY channel.

Artist Profile
Shintaro Hirahara (DaBY Choreographer in Residence, OrganWorks President)

Born in Hokkaido, Japan in 1981.
After a career in classical ballet and HipHop, he became an expert in contemporary dance, working as a dancer, choreographer, stage composer, and dance teacher.
He also presides over the dance company [OrganWorks] and engages in creative activities.
In Japan, he has choreographed for Gekidan Ikiume, Kentaro Kobayashi, Kensaku Kobayashi, Akira Shirai, Keishi Nagatsuka, Ken Kamikita, and others, and as a dancer, he has collaborated with artists in other fields, including Shintaro Oue, Mirai Moriyama, and others, and with Condors, Chiharu Shiota, and Midori Harima, among others. In addition, he has collaborated with artists in China, Korea, Spain, and Scotland, and has choreographed for them.
He was featured in the magazine “BRUTUS” in a feature article titled “Tsugi no Hito: A Catalogue of People Who Will Change Tomorrow. ~
In 2013, she studied in Spain for 9 months under the overseas training program for up-and-coming artists by the Agency for Cultural Affairs.
In 2015, she received the Otaru City Cultural Encouragement Award.
In 2016, she received both the Next Generation Choreographer Award and the Audience Award at the Toyota Choreography Awards. In 2017, she received the Japan Dance Forum, the Japan Dance Forum, the Japan Dance Forum, the Japan Dance Forum, and the Japan Dance Forum.
Received the Japan Dance Forum and Dance Forum Award in 2017.
