“Wings” Activity Report #1
—From activity records through May 2026—
Dance Base Yokohama’s international dance project “Wings” for the next generation of creators taking flight around the world
In 2024, Dance Base Yokohama (DaBY) launched the “Wings”: International Dance Project by Dance Base Yokohama for Emerging Creators, utilizing funding from the Agency for Cultural Affairs’ “Fund for Strengthening the Infrastructure for Cultural and Artistic Activities.”Together with a total of 12 creative teams—including the six directors and choreographers selected for the “Wings” project —we have been creating and staging works with a view toward international performances.
We are pleased to announce that we will be holding an online briefing session on international activities by the creators and staff of “Wings.”
Drawing on insights gained from their respective roles during the European tour, the trip to South Korea (the Gwangju ACC tour and production collaboration with the KNCDC in Seoul), Swiss Dance Days, and visits to dance houses across Europe, the participants will share the latest developments in production and performance systems, networks, and the dance scene in various countries.
This event will be held online via Zoom.We invite you to join us in exploring the current state of creation, residencies, and study tours.
