Kenta Komori’s “Class”, which has been offered to professional and aspiring professional dancers since its opening in June 2020, will be held as the OpenLab “Kenta Komori Dance Workshop”! Anyone with dance experience can take a special class by Kenta Komori for a limited time. While based on contemporary dance techniques, this dance class is open to participants from various dance backgrounds, and will cultivate sensitivity to thinking about expression through improvisation and work directly on creativity.

Kenta Kojiri Kojiri [dance evangelist]

Dancer, choreographer, and dance evangelist at Dance Base Yokohama. 1999 Prix de Lausanne International Ballet Competition winner. He was the first Japanese male dancer to join the Netherlands Dance Theatre I. After leaving the company, he performed with the Royal Swedish Ballet, the Noh Ballet, and the Royal Ballet of Sweden. Since leaving the company, he has made guest appearances with the Royal Swedish Ballet, Noism, Sylvie Guillem’s “6000 Miles Away,” and Kirlian Productions, while developing his creative activities through solo performances such as “Study for Self/portrait” (Hara Museum of Contemporary Art, 2005). In recent years, he has been leading Opto with Rei Watanabe and Nagama Yuasa, curating Dance Lab “Dancers, Dance with Words,” which teaches expression to Japanese national figure skating team members, and serving as an instructor/navigator at Saitama Dance Laboratory (Saitama Arts Theatre, Sai-No-Kuni).
