How does the spatialized “motionless sound” transform over time
and how does it sound to our ears and body?
The “motionless sound” played by saxophone and electronics is spatialized through 8 speakers and body movements.
A performance event will be held in which a system that can manipulate and reproduce the spatialized sound in real time will be constructed and shared with the audience.

◆Artist Profile
Miho Hakamada
After living in Paris for 8 years, he returned to his hometown Ichinomiya City, Aichi Prefecture in 2023. She has been active internationally as a “saxophonist who connects music and society” by developing concerts for parents and children and collaborative projects at museums and historical and cultural facilities in Japan and France. She holds a master’s degree in saxophone, chamber music, and improvisation from the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique de Paris. He won the unanimous first prize at the 8th Nantes International Saxophone Competition, was a finalist at the 7th Adolphe Sax International Saxophone Competition, and performed with the Chamber Orchestra of Belgium. Studied as an overseas trainee of the Agency for Cultural Affairs in 2021 and performed with the New Japan Philharmonic, and appeared on NHK-FM’s “Recital Passio.
Tetsuo Koita
Born to a Japanese mother and a French father, he was exposed to music from an early age. While studying saxophone, tuba, and bass, he was drawn to the world of classical and electronic music.
He studied musicology at the University of Grenoble-Alpes and obtained a music research qualification in composition at the Grenoble Regional Conservatory with the highest score. He then went on to complete a master’s degree in composition at the Royal Conservatory of Antwerp.
He has gained experience as a sound engineer in various companies and concert halls, and has composed and arranged a wide range of orchestral, film, electronic, and chamber music works. He has also been involved in recording and mixing classical films, documentaries, and short films.
Wakana Oda
Born in 2002 and raised in Ibaraki Prefecture, she studied modern dance under Yuka Hirata from the age of three. She has participated in national dance competitions in the modern dance division and won the second prize in the junior division of the 31st Kobe National Western Dance Competition. She studied classical ballet under Yuji Numajiri, appeared in the music video for Motohiro Hata’s “girl” in 2001, and performed in Tarinof Dance Company’s “Giselle” in 2010. She majored in international relations at the University of Tokyo and studied international politics during a one-year exchange program at the University of Copenhagen, Denmark, and performed in “Dance for Pleasure” choreographed by Yasutake Shimaji in the DaBY x Aichi Arts Theater project.
Mano Hatanaka
DaBY Resident Dancer
Born in Tokyo. Graduated from Ochanomizu University, Dance Education Course. Through performing in recent works, she has been influenced by the movement research and creative methods of Kenta Komori, Saori Hara, Rion Meya, and Kohei Fujimura. Currently interested in the body as a surface where imagination collides, she has begun her own creative work, and will be a dancer in residence at Dance Base Yokohama from 2020. Night Shades” choreographed by Iri Pokorni, and “Dance for Pleasure” choreographed by Yasutake Shimaji.
Nanana Horikawa
DaBY Resident Dancer
She started classical ballet at the age of 5 and studied classical ballet and contemporary dance at Symphony Ballet Studio from the age of 12. She has won many top prizes at ballet competitions in Japan and abroad. She has performed in works by Iri Pokorny, Toru Shimazaki, Ryu Suzuki, and others. She is a ballet instructor at Symphony Ballet Studio, and has performed in “Rain” by Suzuki⻯×Omaki Shinji×evala, “Night Shades” choreographed by Iri Pokorni, and “Dance for Pleasure” choreographed by Shimaji Yasutake in the DaBY × Aichi Arts Theater project.
