“R/evolution(s),” a piece created with Conan Amok as part of the “Wings”: International Dance Project by Dance Base Yokohama for Emerging Creators, was performed at the “Edinburgh Festival Fringe,” the world’s largest performing arts festival.
This performance was realized as part of an exchange program between the two dance houses, based on an international partnership with Dance Base, Scotland’s national dance center. During the Fringe, the piece was performed 12 times at Dance Base.

“R/evolution(s)” was selected for the “Highly Commended” distinction in the Asian Arts Special Award category at the Asian Art Awards of the Edinburgh Festival Fringe 2026! “Highly Commended” is an honor awarded to works that received particularly high praise from the judges, ranking just below the winners in each category.

It was also nominated for the IC Award 2026 / Intercultural Connections Award.
During the Fringe, we received praise for the production from many reviewers, including some who awarded it the highest possible rating of five stars. These accolades also served as an opportunity to introduce “R/evolution(s)” to a wider audience.

Encouraged by our experience and the acclaim we received in Edinburgh, Dance Base Yokohama will continue its activities both in Japan and abroad to further develop “Wings.”
