Sawako Iseki
Dancer and deputy artistic director of Noism, born in 1978 in Kochi, Japan, studied classical ballet under Sakiko Ichinomiya from the age of three.
After studying at the National Ballet School of Zurich, Switzerland, she studied under Maurice Béjart and others at Rudra Béjart Lausanne.
‘ Joined Netherlands Dance Theater II (Holland) in ’98 and Swedish Kullberg Ballet in ’00.
‘ In April 2004, she became a founding member of Noism, and has always played a major part in Jo Kanamori’s works. She is currently one of the leading dancers in Japan, and is highly regarded and attracting attention from various fields.
‘ She has been a ballet mistress since 2008, and also served as the deputy artistic director of Noism since 2010. She was awarded the 38th Nimura Dance Prize.
