July From mid-July to From mid-July to to the end of August ACY Fellowship from mid-July through the end of August. I will begin research for a new work with the support of a fellowship from mid-August to the end of August. First, I will be researching Noh and Japanese dance in Kyoto, and then in Yokohama. After that, I will be in Yokohama for a little less than two weeks with various guests. I will be in Yokohama for a little less than two weeks with various guests in my studio. I am interested in the physicality of “ghosts expressed with a living body” and “stretched and delayed voices and gestures” in Noh, and will focus on the twisted gendered ghost in the performance “Izutsu,” a woman who wears her late husband’s clothes, creates the image of her dead husband from the reflection of the surface of a well, and dances with the image. This is a woman who dances with the image of her dead husband. This work is also inspired by the onna odori (dance of a woman) seen in Japanese dance, lap dance The artist will attempt to find clues for a new work as lap dance, drawing on hints from the onna odori (women’s dance) seen in Japanese dance.

◆企画概要
Saturday 2024/8/17
17:00-20:00 / 3 hours workshop
20:00-21:00 / talk+Q&A Sesson
In this WS, I would like to share and experiment together with participants tips and techniques for creating dance performance from the framework of creating an intimate dance performed by wet and twisted ghosts. How can we handle references performatively in this process? How can we look at a performance in progress with creative eyes? How do we create scenery as well as stand-alone movement? How to connect material to material? And how to search for hypotheses and intuition in a performative way? The time is very short for the content, but we will try our best to be quick! If participants have phrases or materials they are working on, they may bring them to the workshop, which will be oriented towards makers, but the workshop is open to all people involved in the performing arts, not just dancers, so experience and age are not required. In the last talk, I would like to briefly introduce my research in Brussels, which was supported by the Pola Art Foundation, and the two years I participated in the P.A.R.T.S. research cycle. A question and answer session will be held at the end of the session.

◆アーティストプロフィール
Choreographer and dancer. She lives and works in Belgium and Japan. Unable to see herself from the outside, she is interested in how she can capture a stronger sense of reality by looking at the bodies of others, which are composed of the materials closest to her own. In the process, she is interested in blurring and temporarily remaking all ways of identification with the human body, paying attention to the politics and violence of the gaze.
