<About Dance Base Yokohama>
Dance Base Yokohama is a dance house that plans and operates projects specializing in the development of a professional dance environment and creator training.
For the development of dance as a composite art form, we aim to be a center of exchange not only for choreographers and dancers, but also for musicians, artists, visual artists, lighting designers, sound designers, producers, production staff, critics, researchers, and audience members. Dance Base Yokohama has been nicknamed “DaBY” in the hope that it will become a magnetic field or platform where many people involved in dance can gather without barriers. While being a residence space for creation, Dance Base Yokohama will also interact with local artists and citizens, and plans to develop further diverse projects such as workshops, experimental tryout performances, and dance archive projects.
