Dance Base Yokohama 6th Anniversary | Cross-Talk Report Now Available
Dance Base Yokohama celebrated its sixth anniversary on June 25, 2026.
This is all thanks to everyone who supports our activities.
We would like to express our heartfelt gratitude.
Last summer, we opened the 1st-floor studio, and together with the 3rd-floor studio, we have been hosting a variety of events, including regular open classes, performances, and residency programs.
We will continue to create spaces where people connect with one another and with society in a relaxed and natural way through dance.
To commemorate our 6th anniversary, we have compiled the content of the cross-talk event held at the time of our opening into a report article and a highlight video.Titled “Opening Up Dance: The Next Steps | Shaping the Future Together with the Community,” this record documents a discussion with guests representing different perspectives—dance criticism, concert halls, and private funding—on the future relationship between dance and society.
What does it mean to “open up dance”? We’ll present a dialogue based on various perspectives and case studies—including the planning process, changes in the creative environment, and the need to engage society—divided into two parts: Part 1 and Part 2.
Whether you’re already familiar with dance or are just getting started, please be sure to read this.
