To expand my options as a professional dancer.”
DaBY Contextual Studies will be held as part of the DaBY ProLab for Dancers 2021 [first semester] Dancer Development Program. The second day of the program, “DaBY Contextual Studies,” will feature guest lecturer Ms. Saori Hara, a choreographer in residence at DaBY and a dancer/choreographer based in Germany and Japan.
Ms. Hara will talk about how to expand her career as a professional dancer, not only belonging to a company, while sharing her own experiences, such as studying choreography academically and working with artists of various genres as a freelance dancer.
Nine DaBY resident dancers, members of the Dancer Development Program, will also participate in this program.
About DaBY Contextual Studies
DaBY Contextual Studies is a lecture program for learning about the performing arts from a cross-sectional perspective. Students will learn a wide range of dance-related techniques and performing arts knowledge, and by thinking about these findings in a series of contexts, they will be able to apply them practically in their activities as professional dancers while maintaining a broad perspective.
In addition to DaBY’s professional staff with expertise in the performing arts, a variety of guest lecturers will be invited to present special programs.
