TRIAD DANCE A tryout performance by Yoko Ando scheduled for September 2021 as part of the PROJECT “Dance Genealogy Studies” program. This time, Ms. Ando, a choreographer who is working on a new creation at DaBY for the tryout, and three young dancers, Nono Kinouchi and Yasuyu Yamaguchi, who were selected through auditions, will be invited as guests for a talk and demonstration about the rehearsal process that continues at the Corona Hazama. The event will be held in conjunction with the presentation of the new work. They will also talk about “Study #3” choreographed by William Forsythe, which will be performed in conjunction with the presentation of the new work.
What is TRIAD INTERMISSION?
TRIAD DANCE PROJECT “Dance Genealogy” was one of the programs of “TRIAD DANCE DAYS,” which was scheduled to be held in conjunction with the opening of Dance Base Yokohama (DaBY) in May 2020. The event was to explore academic dance choreography in two parts: “Origin,” in which each dancer dances an original work by a master choreographer, and “Inheritance/Reconstruction,” in which each dancer attempts to create a new piece. However, due to the spread of the new coronavirus, all programs were cancelled, and further creation is underway, seeking creative methods that are possible even with the coronavirus disaster.
We consider this creative process as “INTERMISSION” and aim to provide an opportunity for the public to learn about the background of the creative process and the artists’ new approaches to the coronary disaster, which are rarely known.
