DaBY resident choreographer Saori Hara using her own method “design of situation”, The workshop will be held in the beginning of each 90-minute session. After a brief lecture of 20 minutes at the beginning of each 90-minute session, 70 minutes of studio work will be conducted to share how to observe the relationship between the body and the space (DaBY in this case) through the concept of “affordance” taken from ecopsychology. From there, we will translate this into specific ideas for movement according to the skill level of each participant.

This workshop is mainly for dance artists who are looking for new hints and perspectives for choreography, direction, and improvisation. However, all levels of physical skill are welcome, so those who have no experience in performance but would like to learn and think about performance expression through their own bodies are also welcome to participate.
