Aichi Arts Theatre, which leads the Japanese dance world by producing a variety of dance works and inviting overseas artists to Japan,
, and Dance Base Yokohama, a creative base for globally active directors and choreographers in Yokohama, will collaborate to present three dance works that will be premiered in 2021. The first three dance works will be performed in 2021.
Please look forward to the expression of the response to society through the body of unique dance artists who have been active overseas and who have worked on the Corona Disaster.

◆Performances
This work deals with the body of a dancer obsessed with dancing as the pole of a social body that is feeling more and more absent due to the Corona disaster. Does the absence of the body mean that the dancer is no longer needed? With Mariko Kakizaki as a double cast, this time we ask what value can be found in the inevitability of dancers who continue to dance in this day and age.

Direction, Choreography, Performances
Associate choreographer at DaBY. Studied at the Lambert School in England and has performed in works by prominent choreographers in Japan and abroad. In addition to winning several awards as a choreographer, he has performed and choreographed in Japan and abroad, including in Europe and Asia. He has also choreographed contemporary dance for many young ballet dancers throughout Japan, leading them to win prizes.

He was a member of Batsheva Ensemble from 2012~14 and L-E-V Sharon Eyal|Gai Behar from 2015~21, and has performed and taught workshops around the world.

He has composed music for various animation and dance films including Isao Kaneko’s works, The Balloon Catcher was nominated for the Annecy International Animated Film Festival in 2020, and won the Best Music Award at Ca’ Foscari Short Film Festival 2021 (Venice). dramaturg
Graduated from Kunitachi College of Music. While studying classical guitar from an early age, he has also been interested in the relationship between music and dance through watching many dance works. He aims to create intellectual value through physical representation.
stage design
After graduating from graduate school, he worked as a partner at ON Design. Through the design of housing complexes, stores and venue configurations, he explores spaces created from the human body and behavior.
costume
Born in Kumamoto Prefecture. Studied under stylist Yoshito Katsumi. After becoming independent, studied the basics of costume production in New York. Currently working as a stylist and costume designer in all genres.
The Dying Swan” based on Fokin’s original story has been danced by ballet dancers all over the world. In this performance, Hana Sakai, one of Japan’s leading dancers, will perform a newly interpreted version of the play, which she worked on with playwright Toshiki Okada. By approaching the cause of the swan’s death, the ballet style is deconstructed, opening up a new dimension in contemporary performing arts.

She began classical ballet in 1979. After working with the Maki Asami Ballet Company, she moved to the New National Ballet Company in 1997 as a principal when it was established. Since then, she has performed numerous leading roles. As one of Japan’s leading ballerinas, she has performed a wide range of works from classical to contemporary. She has received numerous awards, including the Art Encouragement Prize and the Akiko Tachibana Award, and was awarded the Medal with Purple Ribbon in 2017.
direction
Playwright, novelist, and director of chelfitsch. He has garnered much attention both in Japan and abroad for his unique methodology of using “imagination” and the relationship between words and the body, as well as for his critical eye toward contemporary society.
cello
An earthy cellist active in a variety of genres including rock, pop, jazz, classical, and improvised music. One of the top string arrangers in the Japanese music world. He also collaborates with dancers on numerous occasions.
This new work is a creation by four dance artists of the same generation who have been active in Japan, England, the Netherlands, and Israel. Through the asymmetrical act of “choreographing,” the dancers present “dance as a mode of communication in an asymmetrical relationship” by remembering through their bodies.

She has been a member of Noism2 in Niigata since 2014 and Netherlands Dance Theatre 1 in the Netherlands since 2018, leaving the company in 2021. Currently she works as a freelancer in the Netherlands and other countries.

He has represented Japan in one of Asia’s largest street dance contests and has won many prizes. He participated in the world’s first professional dance league from Japan, the Dai-ichi Seimei D.LEAGUE 21-22 SEASON as “LIFULL ALT-RHYTHM”, and is a DaBY dancer in residence.
