Born in Yokohama, studied under Kuniko Kisanuki. In 2001, she became the first Asian to join the Ballett Frankfurt. After the dissolution of Ballett Frankfurt in 2004, she continued to be a member of The Forsythe Company and danced on stages all over the world as a core dancer for 15 years until the dissolution of the company in 2003.
Since 2001, she has been active in the company's activities. In addition to presenting dance works written/directed/performed by herself, she has been actively involved in collaborations with musicians and contemporary artists in Japan and abroad, as well as in creating and teaching dance using media technology. Currently based in Yokohama and New York.
